Southland are an Australian worship band — and they take their name from this country's own: the Southland of the Holy Spirit, as it was called in 1606.
They record with Integrity Music, and describe their aim as carrying the torch for Australian worship into a new era — standing in a long line of songs that have gone out from this nation to the rest of the world.
Their live record Like The World Has Never Seen follows releases including A Great Awakening, Give You Praise, The Way, This Is The Day and the album Technicolour — and their multitracks and stems are used by church bands well beyond their own rooms.
Which makes Lismore a fitting place to sing them. A festival in the great Southland of the Holy Spirit, in a region that has been under water twice in three years, with churches from across the Northern Rivers standing together on one oval.
